Aging and Mental Health Disparities Research: Implications for Korean Gerontological Research

Abstract
Given the increased attention to reducing or eliminating health disparities among racially/ethnically diverseolder adults, this paper reviews recent trends of aging and mental health disparities research conducted inthe United States. This review paper provides an overview of theoretical frameworks for health disparitiesresearch, as well as issues relating to disparities in mental health care and mental health status amongolder adults. The authors also discuss available secondary data sets for aging and health disparitiesresearch. Implications and future directions for Korean aging and health disparities research are discussed.
